[[Mavis Olesen]], retired assistant superintendant from public school education has a Ph. D. in Curriculum and Instruction and Early Childhood Education.  She has written [[radio]] and [[television]] [[script]]s, curriculum, reports and inservice/resource kits.  Recently her contracts include Integrated Services and supports for Community Schools.  Other work has been with the [[Evangelical Fellowship of Canada]] and local churches.  She and husband Jim have completed an education assignment with the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) in a Karen Burmese refugee camp in Thailand.

[[Mavis Olesen]] and her co-author '''Dallas Williams''' wrote the book [[Living in Limbo]] traces the journey of trans-racial adoptive families, with particular emphasis on our family.  It describes the behavior, responses and mistakes of family members.  It describes a way toward hope, love and wholeness.  It offers other family members one way to live in limbo with peace.
