LYNC Music MinistryReview written by Kayon Vaz LYNC (Living Your Name Christ) puts a fresh sound to a cappella gospel music. The male sextet utilizes their exceptional voices, good looks, and cultural diversity to bring a unique sound to the world of gospel music It all started in 2007. The sextet is comprised of Derique Smith (first tenor), Shawn Spencer (lead and second tenor), Sean Barrow (baritone), Andre Haughton (third tenor), Joseph London (second tenor), and Earl Morgan (bass). LYNC has been compared to the likes of Take 6 with their smooth jazz and soulful sound. LYNC has the ability to take acappella music to another level. When asked the question "Are you afraid of what the media might think of boy band trying their luck at gospel music?" Their response was a simple but humble one. "We are not concerned with what the media thinks. Our name says it all. LYNC (Living Your Name Christ). He is at the center of what we do and the reason for why we are using our talents to glorify him". The group's hard work, commitment, and dedication to the ministry was recognized in August 25, when they won the Maja Gospel Award. They shared the stage with Dr. Bobby Jones, Gospel Recording Artist Trinitee 5:7 and other gospel hopefuls. LYNC is currently working on their debut album and touring around the GTA in Ontario. Their tour dates can be seen at LYNCradio.com. LYNC is also keeping busy for the Christmas season. Watch their performance on the "Images of You Live Christmas!" on Saturday , at 5 p.m. on CTS_TV. So what can we expect from these six young Christian men? We will just have to wait and see. |
