Encouraging believers is a priority for Riley. While some view Christian music as simply "preaching to the choir," Riley reminds us that "the choir," particularly teens, needs encouraging. Who is Riley Armstrong ?

Riley Armstrong is a Canadian recording artist.

Riley Armstrong was once Flicker's flagship artist with his self-titled debut in 2000, followed by 2002's Whatever the Weather. In the time since, the guitar-toting folkie left the label to simplify his life, returning to his Canadian homeland to become a family man. Armstrong went on to release La Loop through indie label 7Spin Music, now distributed through Provident Music Group, which also inked a distribution deal with Flicker—things really do stay the same in spite of change.

Enthusiastic describes Riley's outlook on life. Not one to be brought down by the obstacles of life, Riley emanates an enthusiasm which lifts people up, both on stage and off. His enthusiasm for the message of the Gospel propels him to create music to touch all who hear it.

Intelligent lyrics mark Riley's songs, inviting listeners to experience what they are hearing. Lyrics such as "From a colorless past, you asked me to the paint store" (from Reborn) and "I've got to decide if I'm going to fly or let gravity keep me grounded" (from 9 point 8) connect with listeners, relating everyday struggles we all share.

Encouraging believers is a priority for Riley. While some view Christian music as simply "preaching to the choir," Riley reminds us that "the choir," particularly teens, needs encouraging. They need to see that creativity and individuality are not things of the world, but rather they belong to God. Riley's creativity, from his music to his crafts, is a great example of the gifts God gives his children, gifts given to be used for Him. Riley relates, "I really like to inspire people to laugh, cry, think, and dance. With music, words are given a certain respect that conversation does not always make room for. With music, to the listeners I can become a friend who understands and an encouragement to those who are searching for the truth – all of this before I even get to say 'hello!'"
