Who is Roger de Brabant?Roger de Brabant is the Owner and Visionary for the CHIM Broadcasting Network. The original vision for CHIM was conceived in 1984 while Roger de Brabant was working for OnTel, at a time when Christian Broadcasting was illegal in Canada. After many years of prayer and waiting upon the Lord, the breakthrough came with the June 3, 1993 CRTC decision which finally allowed Christian Radio Stations in Canada. Immediately upon hearing the good news, de Brabant started working on an application for a Christian station in Timmins. At this time, the only Christian Radio Stations that were on the air where in Newfoundland, who had their two stations since before Confederation, and where therefore not subject to the rules and regulations of the CRTC. Approved on October 27, 1995 CHIM would become Canada's first non-commercial Christian radio station. On air testing began on December 24, 1995 and we officially went on the air on that Glorious Easter Sunday morning at 8:15 am, on April 7,1996. Since going on air, CHIM is now experiencing widespread growth and with almost every application approved, CHIM is becoming one step closer to fulfilling God's vision for the station. web site : http://www.chimfm.com |
