Ruth has lived in Toronto, Canada since 1975, and has performed with all of the major orchestras in the city, and is actively involved in many chamber music ensembles. She can be frequently heard performing on CBC radio. Ruth is currently concertmaster of all three orchestras of the Mississauga Symphonic Association, including the acclaimed string orchestra Sinfonia Mississauga. Ruth is also concertmaster of the Elora Festival Orchestra and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir Orchestra. Ruth is the Organist/Music Director at Little Trinity Anglican Church in downtown Toronto. Ruth has written many worship songs, and spends much of her time leading worship with her team, in churches and at conferences both in North America and in Europe. I long to see God’s people released into the joy of a deeply intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus, entering into the very centre of His heart in worship” Ruth has a desire to see music used in the context of intercession and prayer, and to incorporate the prophetic in all worship.
Oratorio TerezinComposed by Ruth Fazal (see Composer), Oratorio Terezin is a full length work scored for orchestra, childrens choir adult choir and three vocal soloists. Set in the context of the Holocaust, using children's poetry which miraculously survived from the ghetto of Terezin, woven together with passages from the Hebrew scriptures, this piece explores the question so many ask in the face of human suffering: "Can God be found in my place of pain?" Over 15,000 children passed through Terezin, of whom only one hundred survived. The poignant innocence of their poetry, set against the cry of 'How long will the wicked exult?' causes us to come face to face with the testing of faith, in the context of unspeakable human suffering and deprivation. http://www.oratorioterezin.com
