Ruth Hisey was one of the founders and organizers for the first meeting of the Canadian Gospel Music Association (CGMA). Ruth was also a member of the music group The Hisey Family who began “The Hisey House of Song”, a Southern Gospel music program aired on regional television.

Ruth called a few of her friends and fellow musicians together to discuss how to unite Christian artists in order to share ideas on promotion and management and to help new artists. Ruth was joined by Walt Andres and Mike Moran from The Torchmen, John Galbraith and John Hisey of Outreach, Neil DeGraw of the New Covenant Children, as well as Rob Hisey, Helen Hisey and Ellen Hisey.
