Joanie Kotanen is a singer and guitarist Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Musician, songwriter, performer and speaker Joanie Kotanen is a mainstay of local gospel music in the Northwestern Ontario, but her ministry takes her well outside her home region coast to coast across Canada and into the USA as well.
While Joanie continuously plays in mainline cities and venues she feels a special calling toward the path less traveled. If you live in a small community please don't hesitate to inquire about Joanie coming to your venue. Joanie is well known for traveling and playing in places where other people won't go. She goes off the beaten path, to reserves and remote locations. Joanie does not need a formal stage to deliver her music and message, she has played in prisons, soup kitchens, and shelters.
Our Program:
- We give a clear message of salvation through personal testimony, humour, and encouragement through scripture and music
- Our program is for one hour
- Music Style: please visit the "Music" link for sound clips. My music styles generally are folk, celtic, country, contemporary Southern Gospel, soft blues and some traditional hymns.
To quote Joanie about her music ministry:
"I hope to give encouragement to my Christian peers, as well as receive encouragement from rehearsing the loving kindness in the example shown to us by God when Jesus humbled himself and died on the cross in our place so that we might have peace with God. Rather than 'headline' anywhere, I strive to 'underline' everywhere I go the message of salvation. No, it's not easy in the shadow of the cross, but I hold to His nail scarred hand, and that way I won't turn back."
