The Canadian brother trio also received Song of the Year for "Believer" (written by Toby Penner and Eldon Winter) and Contemporary/Pop Album of the Year for its self-titled debut. Accepting the band's first Vibe Award of the evening for "Believer" (which was prominently featured in the motion picture Left Behind), Toby said, "It's awesome that people got something out of a simple song I wrote while in my room a couple years ago. That's what gives me the real fulfillment to what I'm doing; that's what matters to me." Jake performed "Brighter" and "Army of Love" from its sophomore release, Army of Love, on the program. The awards were presented on May 11 at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and the program was taped for later broadcast in Canada. The Vibe Awards allowed people across Canada to vote online for the first time for their favorite Canadian Christian/gospel artists in eight categories. Jake released its sophomore project, Army of Love, on February 26, 2002, and will be touring in Canada with the Newsboys in June 2002.
