What is Voices of Praise ?
Voices of Praise (VOP) is a vocal music group very committed to their take it to the people mission. Therefore you will find them just about anywhere, from main stage venues to hospital rooms. This Inter-denominational (different churches), praise ministry has given them with the opportunity to meet some very special people, and provided wonderful, inspirational memories.
Their rich and diverse Caribbean, West Indian, African, Canadian backgrounds, inspires their music and message. This gospel group's musical style ranges from funky Rhythm and Blues with a new urban attitude, to soulful a cappella and reggae/calypso beats. VOP has paved the way for people in need of spiritual growth. By focusing on "The Word," VOP stands united in answer to "The Call." In the past seven years they have done just that. With fervour they have praised the Lord and have been described as "Ottawa's Gospel Sensation" and "The Funky Disciples of Gospel." A perfect example can be heard from their premiere original release "Surrender," which captures the music, the medium and the message.
Our Practice Location:
We are a gospel group with many denominations (churches), based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The nation's capital. Practice sessions are held at St. George's Anglican Church in Ottawa, Ontario.

Achievements of Voices of Praise
VOP was selected for the Canadian Juno Awards 2003 celebrations, greeting over 400 Musical Delegates at the Mayor of Ottawa Juno Awards Reception, which included Mayor Chiarelli, Canadian artists Shawn Desman, Glenn Lewis, The Rascalz, Snow and Heritage Minister Sheila Copps. They have performed with a variety of international recording artists ranging from Paul Anka, Celine Dion, to The Chieftains, and Wayne Rostad, shared the stage with Gordon Lightfoot, Susan Aglukark, Barenaked Ladies, Deborah Cox, Measha Brueggergosman. They have also been honoured to sing for The Governor Generals of Canada, Coretta Scott King, and Maya Angelou. VOP has also appeared at events with Smokey Robinson, The Rev. Al Green, James Brown, Little Richard, Hammer and many more. This group's new urban attitude is inspirational, entertaining, and faithful to the pure roots of gospel music. Each performance celebrates the gospel with high energy praise!
