John Peneycad is a gifted soloist who has been singing contemporary and traditional gospel music since 1992. He graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1989, and then he and his wife, Elizabeth, spent the first 13 years of their marriage in Chatham, ON where John worked in Finance and Accounting for Union Gas Limited. John's passion for singing and for ministry developed into a busy concert schedule, and as well he served as Lay Director of Music and Worship at Gregory Drive Alliance Church in Chatham. In 1999, John received the Song of the Year Covenant Award from the Canadian Gospel Music Association for his first original song entitled "Empty Cross".

2002 saw John and his family move to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan as John's career took a new direction. He became the Pastor for Worship Arts at Moose Jaw Alliance Church.
