Tips to Start a Christian Radio Station in Canada

If you are interested in starting a Christian radio station in Canada, we recommend the following:

1. Write down your radio ministry vision, your statement of faith and describe how you see local churches, Christian business owners and musicians becoming involved.

2. Pray on your own and with other Christians who share your vision. Ask your church congreagation to pray for you.

3. Sign up for our FREE radio ministry e-newsletter ChristianRadioCanada_News. You will be able to connect with radio broadcasters and radio ministry supporters across Canada. Opportunities to ask questions about the application process, the C.R.T.C. and technical questions will be provided.

4. Download and read the Best practices paper prepared by Canadian Christian radio staff and communicators. (PDF format) Best Practices: The Quest for Excellence in Canadian Christian Radio, October 2004, 72 pages: Dedicated to Larry Kayser

5. Call a meeting of Christians in your community who share your vision. Encourage their ideas and input. Empower them to be invloved and take on leadership roles. Add to your radio ministry vision, your statement of faith and describe the steps you need to take.
