Who is Ben Davy ?BEN DAVY is LIFE 100.3’s Morning Show Host and Ministry Relations Co-ordinator. Since 1999, Christian Radio listeners in Central Ontario have been waking up to “The Breakfast Club,” which he anchors alongside his co-host Woody Woodland, weekday mornings from 5:30-9am. “I’ve been hooked on radio since my ninth birthday…the day I woke up to the sound of my first AM/FM clock radio,” recalls Ben. “My parents gift-wrapped it and I found it hidden in my headboard! Years later, my ministry training took me to Illinois where I discovered Christian Radio – non-existent in Canada at the time. I remember thinking that if I ever got the chance to become involved with an opportunity like this back home, I would jump at it.” That opportunity came a lot sooner than Ben expected. In 1997, he returned home to begin a church plant with his former youth pastor. Within months, he met Scott Jackson – a radio veteran who had just returned home from the U.S. with a plan to start a Christian Radio station in Barrie. “It was a moment when I knew God was revealing a future plan for my ministry and my career,” explains Ben. “A neon sign couldn’t have made it any more clear. I love Jesus, and I love radio. For those two passions to morph into an opportunity like this was absolutely incredible.” Ben also speaks in about 20-25 churches a year, and makes numerous public appearances with the LIFE Street Team. Away from LIFE, Ben also does a few hours of local sports announcing on television, and enjoys playing church softball. He stills pledges allegiance to most Chicago-area sports teams, and one of his goals is to see a baseball game in every Major League city! (he’s been to eight stadiums so far).
