‘Yemisi as she’s usually referred to is a songwriter, composer, soloist and a minister of the gospel who has been actively involved in gospel music since the age of 13. She’s blessed with a unique voice and an ability to connect with her listeners through her songs. ‘Yemisi’s strength is in her passionate and emotion-packed renditions that minister to her audience and leaves them craving for more. Her appreciation and love for Christ come across in her ability to draw her listeners into the awesome presence of God. Her intention is to encourage Christians to draw closer to God, to remind them of how great He is and to win the non-Christians to the Lord. This purpose is what drives her. Most of all she has a heart for worship.

Her music is a blend of modern contemporary/inspirational gospel music with some African flavours added to some tracks. Her recently released CD titled “I can count on You” has been a resource of inspiration and edification to believers and non-believers as well. She personally penned six of the songs in the CD. This 10 track CD contains songs that can impact, strengthen and encourage anyone that listens to them.

She has been featured on an hour-long gospel music program (100 Huntley Street) aired on CTS along with other known Canadian Gospel Artists. ‘Yemisi has been actively involved in ministry to churches and conferences since September 2002 across Southern Ontario, United Kingdom and the US.

Yemisi’s music has been of keen interest to quite a diverse audience lately, “I give you peace”, one of the hit tracks in her debut CD has been chosen as one of the tracks on a compilation CD of the top 12 Canadian Artists produced by UCB Canada, a broadcasting organization based in Belleville, Ontario. You can check this compilation CD online at http://www.ucbcanada.com.

This young and talented woman has lots more to offer and she’s yet to reach her potential. She definitely has many fruitful years of fulfilling career ahead and no doubt she has something great to offer now and in the future. She’s a gift to this generation.

She says: "I have learnt to be a vessel used of God to bless and minister to souls."

Yemisi Ogunjimi attends Victory Life Church in Etobicoke.
