Ron Csillag

Ron Csillag is a freelance writer based in Thornhill, Ontario. Born in Montreal, Quebec he graduated from Concordia University.

He has worked as a print reporter and TV news producer in both Montreal and Toronto. He was a reporter for the Canadian Jewish News for over a decade before becoming a fulltime freelance religion writer in 1999, contributing regularly to a variety of Canadian daily newspapers and religious publications, including the Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, the National Post, Faith Today magazine and a variety of publications in the United States. Csillag joined Religion News Service (RNS) as a correspondent in March 2002.

Csillag was awarded an Eli Lilly Fellowship in June 2002 to complete the Specialized Reporting Program in Religion, Spirituality and Ethics, a joint program of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and the Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary.


He is a member of the Board of Directors for The Centre for Faith and the Media.
