Philip Grimes
Philip Grimes was born the youngest of two children on December 2nd, 1970 to Beatrice and Theodore Grimes. Philip grew up with music all around him: his father played a wide variety of instruments including the accordion, guitar, mouth organ, and his sister sang and played guitar.
Philip grew up with strong ties to the Salvation Army church where he played steel guitar, accordion, drums, and piano. It was in the outport community of Little Bay Islands that Philip and his family first produced their first cassette called “Ted Grimes & Family” a tribute to gospel music.
To seek employment Philip left his community and moved to Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland & Labrador. There he celebrated the birth of his child Chelsea Grimes (Daddy’s Girl). While residing in the town of Grand Falls-Windsor Philip has produced three more CD’s of old time favorite Gospel songs, with support from his family, Lisa and Chelsea. The CD "I Knew" is Phil’s first recording of all original material by songwriter Everett Adams.
Philip has been requested to make many public appearances throughout Central Newfoundland each time amazing his audience with his voice and ability to play his array of musical instruments.
The songs on this CD are written by Everett Adams, and copywritten by Newsflash Sounds, PO Box 333, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL A2A 2J7.
