What is Remote Control ?Remote Control is a Canadian Christian music band writing and performing original rock and pop music. Led by twin brothers Adam Goudreault and Jacob Goudreault, Remote Control's pop-rock sound brings to mind bands like FM Static and Stellar Kart, but they also draw musical influences from the likes of Relient K and Anberlin. Lyrical direction is where Remote Control stands confidently alone, fusing real-life angst with spiritual themes, but doing so on their own fresh and creative terms. In an industry where every new artist is expected to fit a cookie-cutter mould, these guys aren't afraid to go against the flow to maintain their unique vision. Guitarist and vocalist Jacob explains the band's name: "Remote Control is about exploring that relationship between mankind and God; It's so hard to understand how He can have control over everything but still give us free will." Bassist and vocalist Adam pipes in, "When we sacrifice the control of our lives to Jesus, we are able to be used for a higher purpose. Because of that decision, we are remotely controlled." When Jacob first picked up the guitar, he was more interested in writing his own songs that learning anybody else's. Adam would bring melodic or lyrical ideas to the table and it wasn't long before the two brothers were a dynamic songwriting team. In the fall of 2006, Remote Control released their debut self-titled EP into the Ontario music scene. In January of 2008, they released their new 6-song demo. The recording features producers Jeff Wardell and jamie k... (of Thousand Foot Krutch) and features Francy from Hello Kelly . Having already shared the stage with successful Ontario bands Hello Kelly and Worthless Without, and having released three songs on the radio, Remote Control is excited for the future. Jacob says about the new single, 'Different Kind of Adam' on local radio station Life 100.3 [[: "It's totally fresh and energietic. I think people are really going to like it!" "We grew up in a house that was always full of music, but when we realized that we could use our music to reach others it gave the whole thing so much more meaning," Adam remembers. One of the priorities behind the music of Remote Control is to bring a new face to the ministry of Christian music. "We write songs that make people think about the decisions they are making and who they are letting control their lives." Source: http://www.myspace.com/remotecontrolrock
