Betty McDaniel
Betty McDaniel is an often requested artist on VOAR with her popular songs "Enter In" and "Come to My Table." She learned her craft in the 1970's on the road in Canada. Born in Edmonton, she entered the music industry as a teenager, and performed her own music and accompanied other fine artists from coffee houses to coliseums, from the Frostbite Festival in Whitehorse to the National Arts Center in Ottawa.
Her songs have been performed and recorded by dozens of artists, including Susan Jacks and Connie Scott, and she appears in the credits of a multitude of great albums as a back-up singer and/or arranger. She has been the British Columbia Country Music Association's Gospel Artist of the Year in 1993, 1994, 1995 and again in 1996. She performs solo, or as a duo with multi-instrumentalist Jim Woodyard, in churches, concerts, conferences, children’’s events and festivals. She also works as an inspirational speaker for retreats, workshops, banquets, women's groups, churches and Christian organizations. Betty travels regularly to the Southern Eastern United States, where her music and ministry are greatly loved.
Since 1989 Betty has released seven recordings of original gospel music, all of which continue to sell well and generate much personal contact from fans in Canada and the U.S. Her songs are heard on Inspirational, Contemporary Christian radio, and many syndicated children’s programs. An album of sing-a-long children’s music, "When I Was A Child" was released in April 1999; featuring Betty with 400 elementary students from Pacific Academy. The newest recording is REAL, Betty's most vulnerable look at the human condition in the safety of God's redeeming love was released in October of 2001. Betty and two of her four children live in Surrey, B.C.
