Mavis Olesen

Mavis Olesen, retired assistant superintendant from public school education has a Ph. D. in Curriculum and Instruction and Early Childhood Education. She has written radio and television scripts, curriculum, reports and inservice/resource kits. Recently her contracts include Integrated Services and supports for Community Schools. Other work has been with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and local churches. She and husband Jim have completed an education assignment with the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) in a Karen Burmese refugee camp in Thailand.

Mavis Olesen and her co-author Dallas Williams wrote the book Living in Limbo traces the journey of trans-racial adoptive families, with particular emphasis on our family. It describes the behavior, responses and mistakes of family members. It describes a way toward hope, love and wholeness. It offers other family members one way to live in limbo with peace.
