On the second Sunday of every month, in hundreds of Churches across the Greater Toronto area, Christians keep an eye out for a now familiar friend -- the latest edition of "The Christian Herald".

The Christian Herald was founded in 1994 out of concern that the lack of a local Christian print communications medium in the region was hampering the effectiveness of local churches, ministries and para-church groups in Southern Ontario.

However, not even its founders envisioned the community support the Herald had generated: the paper tripled its circulation and more than quadrupled its distribution outlets in its first two years. And the paper is in such high demand that in many locations copies are usually all gone within days of coming off the press.

Circulation & Demographics
The Christian Herald is distributed free of charge through approximately 650 Churches, Christian Bookstores, Colleges and Businesses in the Greater Toronto Area. The present circulation is 31,000 copies. (May '06)

The paper is focused mainly on the Evangelical community which encompasses over fifty denominations such as Baptists, Pentecostals, Presbyterians, Lutherans and many, many others.

The paper is currently distributed in the following cities: Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Hamilton, Ancaster, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Barrie, Toronto, Markham, Ajax, Pickering and Oshawa.
