2000 ACTS
The overwhelming turnout of over 65000 people at the 1995 Billy Graham Crusade Youth Night in Toronto prompted the formation of Mission Ontario Youth. The hope of this organization was to do something significant with youth for the Millennium. The 2000 ACTS Youth Project was the plan that brought that hope into action. To prepare youth for service, a curriculum celebrating God and the Heroes of the Faith was created. A Youth Event at Copp's Coliseum in Hamilton was planned to commission youth for service.
The 2000 ACTS Youth Project had begun!
The Canadian Youth Network replaced Mission Ontario Youth in response to the need for incorporation and charitable status. Jack Charleson, the Director of Mission Ontario during the 1995 Billy Graham Crusade, became the initial Chairman of the Board for the Canadian Youth Network. 2000 ACTS Youth Project is likely the largest cooperative Youth Project to have ever taken place in Ontario. It was completely unique to anything attempted before and represented the unified efforts of over four hundred church youth groups. The Goal of this project was to see 2000 youth groups performing acts of service in the year 2000.
