The Canadian Youth Network exists to serve Canadian churches by working alongside youth leaders in applying a discipleship system that develops spiritually healthy teens. John Latta is the visionary for the Canadian Youth Network.

History of the Canadian Youth Network
2000 ACTS
The overwhelming turnout of over 65000 people at the 1995 Billy Graham Crusade Youth Night in Toronto prompted the formation of Mission Ontario Youth. The hope of this organization was to do something significant with youth for the Millennium. The 2000 ACTS Youth Project was the plan that brought that hope into action. To prepare youth for service, a curriculum celebrating God and the Heroes of the Faith was created. A Youth Event at Copp's Coliseum in Hamilton was planned to commission youth for service.

The 2000 ACTS Youth Project had begun!
The Canadian Youth Network replaced Mission Ontario Youth in response to the need for incorporation and charitable status. Jack Charleson, the Director of Mission Ontario during the 1995 Billy Graham Crusade, became the initial Chairman of the Board for the Canadian Youth Network. 2000 ACTS Youth Project is likely the largest cooperative Youth Project to have ever taken place in Ontario. It was completely unique to anything attempted before and represented the unified efforts of over four hundred church youth groups. The Goal of this project was to see 2000 youth groups performing acts of service in the year 2000.

A five-week CURRICULUM focusing on servanthood in God's Word was released in September 1999 to over eight thousand students. The unified effort of various denominations, ethnicities, para and church organizations brought eleven thousand participants representing four hundred and fifteen different churches to the COMMISSIONING EVENT at Copp's Coliseum on October 16th, 1999. SERVICE PROJECTS offered hands-on service experience for individuals and youth groups both locally and all over the world. There were reports of many special and ongoing Service Projects as a result of this project.

We added a fourth-step to this strategy to bring a formal conclusion to the Project:

We held a CELEBRATION EVENT again at Copp's Coliseum on September 30th, 2000. The purpose of this event was to celebrate the many "acts of service" that were accomplished by church youth ministries as they worked in unity around a common community purpose. We also introduced an even greater need of service to today's youth, that is serving our high schools in prayer and as campus missionaries.
