What is BC Christian News?BC Christian News is a weekly Christian Newspaper published in British Columbia. The paper provides news and observations from a Christian perspective. The first editor and executive director of Christian Info, Lloyd Mackey was also the first de facto publisher. After Mackey moved to Toronto, the late Rex Werts was volunteer publisher for several months. He came from a newspaper and advertising background and was a deeply devout Presbyterian. Phil Hood, who came from a west coast community newspaper background, was publisher for the next four years. He helped Christian Info News move into the emerging world of desktop publishing. Hood was followed for three years by Bill Kent, who had a printing background which he utilized in mission work in the Dominican Republic for many years. When Kent left, Peter Dueck became volunteer publisher. A board member for several years, Dueck has been very successful in the building supply and development fields. From 1992 to 1997, Al Stanchibrought brought strong marketing and management skills to the task of publisher. At the end of October, he and wife Janet and daughter Kathryn moved to Florida to pursue family business interests and MBA studies. (Source:canadianchristianity.com
