What is the Christian Dance Fellowship of Canada?The Christian Dance Fellowship of Canada (CDFC) was formed in 1991 and is a member of the International Christian Dance Fellowship. It includes people from all parts of the Christian church, and encourages fellowship, resources, support and regional connections (where possible) for Christians involved in the movement arts. CDFC affirms the major creeds of the Christian church and bases faith and doctrine on the Bible. The Christian Dance Fellowship of Canada is a network of encouragement, training and creativity for dancers across the country. National coordinator Diane Steckloff, a trained ballet dancer and a member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Abbotsford, says the fellowship began when she used dance and drama in a Calgary parish. This touched the heart of her then-pastor, who began researching the role of the arts in worship.
Why do We Dance to the Lord? To bring honour, glory, and praise to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, through the art of dance and movement to equip and encourage one another in this ministry for the purpose of worship.
