Who is Jake Bertrand?

From the time I was a boy, I've been singing, playing, and writing songs. It's a passion I've had for as long as I can remember, and one that still continues to grow and develop. I started performing my own stuff publicly when I was 15, and have been playing ever since. I released my debut CD in 2001 called "I Still Believe", a collection of 10 songs I gathered from material I had written over the years. I've spent much of my time writing new tunes since then, but most importantly I've been learning a lot about life and what my world looks like.

I've been through a lot - from health challenges to struggles in my personal life - even in recent years. But, I can honestly say that it's good to be alive. I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds it for me. I believe there is something bigger than all of us, I believe in God. That belief and realization alone has changed my life, and I'm here to offer what I've learned (and continue to learn) through my own life experience. I've said it before, but if one person can draw a little encouragement and inspiration from the music I play, then I've done my job right. I don't know yet when my next project will be ready - but, after a few years of resting and catching my breath, recording is back in full swing. I'm not the same person I was six years ago - musically or otherwise, and I'm excited about that - about this project, about the future. I will continue to bring updates as stuff comes up, and want to thank everyone who has stuck patiently with me all this time.
