What is Jericho Road?

Jericho Road is a popular Prince Edward Island based acoustic band specializing in gospel music. The group presents Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel music in many venues proving that this style of music can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Highlights of Jericho Road's achievements include : - representing P.E.I. several times at the annual Eastern Canada Bluegrass Awards Show in Truro - performing at Bridge Fest, the opening of the Confederation Bridge, in 1997 - recognition in the P.E.I. Legislature for musical achievements and volunteer contributions - two nominations for the East Coast Music Association Awards : Bluegrass category, 1998 and Gospel category, 2000 - the Chesley MacDougall Award for "exemplifying the spirit of Bluegrass music", 2000 - Gospel Group of the Year award by the P.E.I. Music Association in 2002 and 2004 and nomination in Gospel and Bluegrass categories for the P.E.I. Music Association, 2003 - feature article in Maritime Bluegrass Magazine, 2004 -Nominations in the PEI Music Association award categories in 2005 include Group of the Year, Bluegrass Recording of the Year and Weekend Warrior

Jericho Road has received praise for their enjoyable up-beat performances where they interject humor and stories to complement their musical talents and strong vocal harmonies. The band members are Emily and Vans Bryant, Clyde River and Marnie and Harold Noye, Summerside. Vans plays guitar, Harold plays mandolin and guitar and Marnie plays stand up bass. All provide lead and harmony vocals. Jericho Road has released five recordings: "Jericho Road" (cassette) 1995;"Confederation Bridge" (cassette and CD) 1997; "Send the Light" (cassette and CD) 1999; "The Vision" (cassette and CD) 2000 and "He Lifted Me Up" in 2004. As well, Harold and Vans released a recording in 2002 entitled "Making Plans" featuring songs by such duos as the Louvin' Brothers, Johnny and Jack and the Osborne Brothers.


In 2006 Jericho Road performed their music at the P.E.I. Christian Music Festival.
