The Raw Motion Dance Company is a group of dancers out of Dance Barn Studio in Langley, BC. They are diverse in age, denomination and character, and their dance form is a unique combination of hip hop, modern and spontaneous dance, suitable for everything from youth events to street events to worship events. Their heart is to see the Creator orchestrate movement so that His heart can be expressed through the dance and so that God Himself might be glorified. They are always in pursuit new ways to express their dance so that it is fresh, raw and culturally connected.

This team of 8 dancers has had a surprising year full of opportunity. Though the team has been together less than 2 years, the timing and favour of the Lord have been the evident stamp of release that has come on so many fronts. "How is it that dance can minister?" you ask. The Spirit of the Lord, released through dance that is pure, to musical lyrics that speak Truth, ushers in the Lord's presence. He begins to touch hearts in ways that people can't even begin to express. Gilat sat in a Tel Aviv marketplace and called her friend on her cellphone, "You've got to come see this dance group. They are doing something amazing." On another day, in the centre of Athens, some 5,000 people, primed for the Olympics, stood watching our dancers, unaware that the dance was doing warfare in the heavenlies. One man, in a devastated area of Israel, caught offguard by the presence of our band and dancers on his city's streets, sat down on a crate and just wept. "What are you doing here?" a woman asked after our dancers had performed in a praise parade. "We are expressing God's love for this community," was the response. "That is a good thing, a very good thing," she declared grinning. The form of dance we use is diverse, but hip hop has been the unexpected door opener (this being the language of the culture in so many nations). There are opportunities on the streets, on public stages, anywhere really, to speak Truth, to war in the spirit realm, to worship - all through dance. The dance is sometimes choreographed, but most often, it is a spontaneous Spirit-prompted movement that is prophetic and undeniably powerful.
