Jah Pickney was born, Tim Linnard, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada on June 27, 1982. He presently resides in Belleville, Ontario, where he, along with his brothers, Jeremy and Brad, owns and operates Lineage Recording Studios. Jah Pickney’s composing, producing, arranging, recording and instrumentation skills have been sought out and utilized by other musicians, within a variety of genres of music, including the VIBE award winning debut album by Sean Dayton. Jah Pickney is also the host of the live reggae radio program, Reggaesplash, on Loyalist College radio, 91X CJLX – reaching the beautiful Quinte area through reggae music since 1996. Music has always been a big part of Jah Pickney’s life. At the age of eleven, he showed a definite preference for reggae music, and this God-given passion led him to study Jamaican culture and patois. Jah Pickney began writing and performing his own original reggae songs with lyrics that clearly present the gospel message and positive moral values. Jah Pickney's award winning third album Ghetto Redemption was released July 26, 2005. This album is jam-packed with 15 tracks of hard-hitting dancehall reggae music, with elements of roots, lover's rock, dub, hip-hop and soca. Ghetto Redemption has been labeled Jah Pickney's truest venture in reggae music, as it exudes an authentic raw street-vibe. The album includes the multi-award nominated single Trinity Divinity and features guest artists Dunamis (USA) and Bless aka Prodigal Son (Jamaica). In 2006, Ghetto Redemption earned Jah Pickney two nominations in the 10th Annual Marlin Awards and won a Marlin award for International Caribbean Recording of the Year for the song Heaven. Jah Pickney has performed with many of the world's top reggae artists including Papa San, Stitchie, Chevelle Franklyn, Christafari, Prodigal Son, DJ Nicholas, Junior Tucker, Carlene Davis, Monty G., Mr. Lynx, Manifest and many other top musicians. During his most recent trip to Jamaica, in the summer of 2006, Jah Pickney was invited to perform onstage before a crowd of 10,000 people at Reggae Sumfest 2006, the world’s largest reggae festival held in Montego Bay, Jamaica, annually. According to Jah Pickney, "Reggae music is one of the most influential means of communicating to the masses in Jamaica and around the world, as this genre of music is becoming more popular." Jah Pickney’s humble servant attitude, combined with his powerful lyrics and hard-hitting dancehall reggae music, have made him an effective “musicianary” - both through his life and his music.
