What is the University of Toronto Gospel Choir ?

The University of Toronto Gospel Choir is directed by Lisa Toussaint and performs musical genres that include Christian Contemporary, traditional gospel, praise and worship and spirituals.

The University of Toronto Gospel Choir was in February 1995, the University of Toronto Gospel Choir [UTGC] was formed in celebration of Black History month. The Choir was initially created to unite students with a shared interest in praising the Lord through song. Soon, however, the weekly choir rehearsals became not only a meeting place, but also a refuge for those looking for a non-threatening and empowering environment. Over the years, the Choir has grown to include members of all races and Christian denominations, and celebrates not only the diversity of its members, but also that of its audiences.
