The Leslie K. Tarr Award celebrates a major career contribution to Christian writing in Canada. Faith Today magazine presents the award annually at a June writers' conference. The writers' conference was founded by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and called God Uses Ink. Now The Word Guild runs the annual conference. Faith Today is a a publication of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada. The award is named for Leslie K. Tarr, who was given the first award in 1988. Tarr wrote for The Toronto Star and was one of the first editors of Faith Today. He died in 1995
