What was the West Prince Christian Music Festival? The Inaugural West Prince Christian Music Festival was sponsored by the West Prince Angel Network and the Rev. W.J. Phillips Residence. This three day Christian Music experience featured a wide variety of genres (traditional, Gospel, bluegrass, modern, choirs, etc) performed by well-known local, provincial, Maritime and national entertainers. The West Prince Christian Music Festival began on Friday evening (July 15) and wrapped up with an outdoor, ecumenical service on Sunday afternoon (July 17), 2005. The West Prince Christian Music Festival will be staged at the Prince County Exhibition Grounds in Alberton. The "Exhibition Grounds" provides an ideal venue for this event with all necessary facilities/services (e.g. washrooms, showers, food service, etc), and ample space for rough (RV) camping. In case of inclement weather festival events will be held in the spacious Jacques Cartier Arena, which is adjacent to the grounds. We invite all who appreciate the spiritual blessing of good Christian Music to help us celebrate the music ministry of our talented performers. So visit us in beautiful West Prince and experience the inherent spirituality of a small, rural community. West Prince is an unspoiled region of Prince Edward Island with strong ties to PEIs two primary industries (farming and fishing). Whether one is viewing the pastural beauty of rolling fields of potatoes or grain, or feeling the gentle breeze off the water at one of the regions picturesque harbours, it is virtually impossible to escape the feeling that one is just a little closer to the Creator. In 2006 the festival name was changed to the P.E.I. Christian Music Festival.
